About the Circuit
Who we are
The churches in the Romford Methodist Circuit exist to help people find and follow Jesus in an ever-changing world. Our aim is to be a Christ-centred, welcoming Circuit, reaching out to the community, encouraging followers of Christ and demonstrating God's love in such a way that others cannot ignore it.
The Circuit is organised into two clusters, East and West, under a team ministry. The Circuit Leadership Team, made up of ministers and lay representatives, is jointly responsible for overseeing the life and work of the Methodist churches in the Circuit. The Circuit is served by a team of ministers and a Deacon, assisted by supernumerary ministers, a lay worker and local preachers.
Our clusters
- East Cluster: Brentwood, Rainham, South Ockendon and Upminster, with Rev Karen Bell and Rev Rohama Asif
- West Cluster: Gidea Park, Harold Wood, Havering Road, Hornchurch and Trinity, with Rev Dr Eleanor Jackson and Rev Dr Robert Maginley
Both ministers in each cluster are equally responsible, pastorally and ministerially, for all the churches in their cluster, and cluster ministers meet regularly to organise their workload and share their ministries together.
